Most requests want a session. But many sessions can only be planned once motif, size and placement have been discussed.

Choose the consult. The consultation is its own service in the booking — with a fixed, short duration. Whoever has a motif in mind books a conversation instead of an estimate over DM.

Choose the artist and a time. Prospects pick the artist whose work they know — and see that artist's real open times, calculated from weekly schedule, appointments and buffers. The slot is blocked instantly with the booking.

The consult becomes the session. In the consult, motif, size and placement take shape — and with them the duration. With exactly that duration, your studio schedules the session: as an appointment you enter directly, or through bookable session sizes if you offer them as services.
Six hours means six hours — nothing in between
Services in Slotara have whatever duration you set — including multi-hour blocks. The session occupies the time exclusively with the artist: nothing else is bookable in that window, no overlap is possible, and nobody has to fence off the calendar by hand.
After tattooing there's no room for the next appointment right away: teardown, disinfection, a breath. That's what per-service buffers are for — they flow into the calculation, so bookable times respect the set-up work. And whoever runs session sizes as their own services — say a small, a half-day and a full-day session — makes the big appointment directly bookable too.

Booked, not loosely promised. The appointment is self-chosen, confirmed and documented — both sides share the same state.

Confirmation with calendar entry. The confirmation arrives immediately, with an .ics attachment — the session lives in your client's calendar, not just yours.

One reminder, your timing. Before the appointment, Slotara reminds exactly once by email — with the lead time you set (default: 24 hours). For long sessions you can deliberately set a bigger lead.

Cancelling with a deadline. Up to your deadline, the appointment can be cancelled self-service. After that, the self-service cancellation window ends. You set the deadline for your studio — up to seven days of lead time are possible.

When someone doesn't show. You mark missed appointments as such and see them in your reporting — you learn where sessions fall through instead of guessing.

People rarely come "to the studio" — they come to Rico or to Jules, for exactly that work. In Slotara, clients choose the artist when booking and see that artist's real availability. Long lead times aren't a problem: a firm appointment in six weeks beats a vague promise for next week.
What each person on the team offers, you steer through services and skills — from style to piercing. A service is only bookable with those who deliver it; whoever doesn't offer it simply doesn't appear for it.

Standardisable piercing appointments can be set up as their own short, directly bookable services — with their own duration, no consult stage. In the calendar, the short appointments run with the responsible person while the long session next door stays untouched: every booking respects durations, buffers and existing blocks.
