An Online Booking System with Payments.
If you want it to be.

For every service you decide individually whether payment happens at booking. If you enable it, payment becomes the final step of the booking flow — processed through your own Mollie account, straight to you. If you don't, the booking flow stays without a payment step.

The problem

Settling payment later is a step of its own

If payment is only settled after booking, another step appears in the flow: naming the amount, agreeing on how to pay, keeping an eye on whether it arrived — for every single appointment, next to the actual work of the day.

Slotara can pull that step to the front: if you enable payment at booking for a service, it belongs to the booking flow — your clients book and pay in one go.

How it works

Booking and paying — one flow

This is how a booking runs once you have enabled payment at booking for the service.

  1. 1

You enable payment — per service.

In the service settings you set that payment happens at booking. All other services keep their booking flow without a payment step.

  2. 2

    Your clients book as usual.

Service, person, time — the booking flow is the same. Only the final step is new.

  3. 3

Payment happens in your Mollie account's checkout.

To finish, the booking moves into the payment step. It offers the payment methods you have activated in your Mollie account.

  4. 4

    The slot stays reserved meanwhile.

While the payment runs, nobody else can book the same time. If the payment is not completed, Slotara automatically releases the reserved time.

  5. 5

    Confirmation follows the payment.

As soon as the payment provider confirms the payment, the booking is confirmed — and the confirmation email goes out, with a calendar entry (.ics).

The configuration

One setting per service — no system switch

Payment at booking is not an all-or-nothing decision. You enable it where it fits your offer — and leave it off where it would get in the way.

An intro session can stay bookable without a payment step. Another appointment can take payment right into the booking. Both side by side, in the same calendar.

The prerequisite

Payments run through your Mollie account — straight to you

For payments at booking, you connect your own account with the payment provider Mollie to Slotara once. From then on, Slotara creates payments in your name: the amount goes directly to your account — not through Slotara.

Which payment methods your clients see in the checkout is up to your Mollie account. Slotara doesn't dictate anything here — and is not a payment platform itself: we organise the appointment, Mollie handles the payment.

The status

Paid means: confirmed by the payment provider

A booking only counts as paid once Mollie has confirmed the payment — not merely when the browser window returns. Until then, Slotara keeps the booking as "payment pending" and holds the time reserved.

If a payment is not completed, Slotara automatically releases the reserved time — you don't have to release it manually.

Slotara does not turn a payment into bookkeeping: no automatic invoicing, no cash-register function, no refund handling from inside Slotara. You manage your payments in your Mollie account; you see your appointments and their payment status in Slotara.
